Basel Convention Regional Centre for Training and Technology Transfer for Central Europe, Slovakia (BCRC Slovakia)

Date of establishment: Established in 1996 (no Framework Agreement). More

By decision BC-III/19 the Conference of the Parties of the Basel Convention in 1995, selected the Slovak Republic as a site to establish BCRC for Central Europe sub-region. This resulted to the establishment of BCRC Slovakia in 1996.

Parties served: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the FYR of Macedonia and Ukraine

Expertise: Combating illegal traffic, legal assistance, ESM of used oils, bio medical waste, POPs, e-waste and waste minimization
