| Taking into account the current situation related to the spread of the nuovo coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and in order to ensure the health and safety of all meeting participants, the first meeting of the small intersessional working group on the strategic framework for the implementation of the Basel Convention for 2020-2021 was held online. |
Highlights: The small intersessional working group on the strategic framework for the implementation of the Basel Convention for 2012–2021 met by electronic means from 20 to 22 April 2020. The working group considered and revised a draft report on the final evaluation of the strategic framework prepared by the Secretariat based on, in particular, information provided by Parties through an online survey and a compilation of information prepared by the working group in the previous biennium (UNEP/CHW.14/INF/5). The working group also agreed on a revised work plan for its activities until the fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties. The revised report is being presented for consideration by the Open-ended Working Group at its twelfth meeting.
