Areas of cooperation between the Secretariat and IMO are, among others:

  • Ship dismantling, more specifically the relationship between the Basel Convention and the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships. Specific activities related to dismantling of ships are:
  • Ship wastes, more specifically the relationship between the Basel Convention and MARPOL Convention.
