Highlights: The Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention met on 11 October 2022. The Bureau discussed, among other things, the provisional agenda and preparations of the sixteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention in 2023. Bureau members not able to attend the meeting in-person participated through a secure online connection.
Meeting participants: Mr. Reginald Hernaus, President of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention, chaired the meeting, which was attended by the eight Vice-Presidents and two ex-officio Bureau members, i.e. the Chair of the Implementation and Compliance Committee, and one of the Co-chairs of the Open-ended Working Group.

Next meeting: The bureaux of the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions will meet on 18 and 19 January 2023 to discuss the organization of work of the meetings of the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions taking place from 1 to 12 May 2023 in Geneva.
