The small intersessional working group was requested to work on the compilation of available information on low persistent organic pollutant content values for relevant persistent organic pollutants, as well as methods and methodologies for their determination (decision BC-17/3).
A compilation of information on low persistent organic pollutant content values for HBCD has been considered by the COP at its seventeenth meeting.
Pursuant to decision BC-17/3, the small intersessional working group initiated work on preparing compilations of available information on low persistent organic pollutant content values for hexabromodiphenyl ether and heptabromodiphenyl ether and tetrabromodiphenyl ether and pentabromodiphenyl ether and decabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-209) (referred to as POP-BDEs) and for perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), its salts and perfluorooctane sulfonyl fluoride (PFOSF). Pursuant to paragraphs 10 of decision BC-17/3, on 8 October 2025, the Secretariat invited Parties and observers to submit the relevant information for the preparation of the compilations.
