A third call for proposals for pilot projects under the PWP is open as of 30 January 2025, with a submission deadline in 30 April 2025.
Modalities
- Deadline for submission: 30 April 2025 at 23h59 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
- Indicative budget: approx. USD 50,000 to 180,000 per project, for national projects, and USD 200,000 to 500,000 for regional projects.
- Indicative timeframe: approx. 12-24 months for national projects and 18-24 for regional projects.
- Selection decision expected in September 2025.
Eligible proponents
Proposals may be submitted by:
- Parties to the BRS Conventions;
- Basel and Stockholm Convention Regional and Coordinating Centres;
- not-for-profit entities that have observer status under the Basel Convention; and
- non-Party States that have observer status under the Basel Convention.
Selection process
The proposals received will be assessed by the steering group (formed by the co-chairs of the project groups of the Partnership working group and the officers of the Partnership working group) using the template featured in the modalities (please see below). The steering group will rank and prioritize the selected pilot projects taking into account the financial resources available.
